On Saturday 31 August 2013, as part of our ongoing campaign
to raise awareness of the dangers of mercury dental amalgam we will be hosting a
workshop titled:
Mercury Dental Amalgam:
Threat to Human Health and Environment, Look forward toward Mercury Convention.
The event will be hosted in association with the World Alliance for
Mercury-Free Dentistry (WAMFD) and we are excited to be joined by a number of distinguished
guests for the event, including:
- Chief Guest: The Honorable State Minister,
Veteran Freedom Fighter, Dr. Capt.(Retd.) Mojibur Rahman Fakir, M.P. Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
- Special Guest: Dr. Aparup Chowdhury, Additional
Secretary (Environment), Ministry of Environment and Forest-MoEF
- Guest of Honor: Prof. Dr. Ali Asgor Moral,
President, Bangladesh Dental Society
- Guest of Honor: Dr. Labuda Sultana, Princiapl
and Head, Bangladesh Dental College
The workshop will include an open discussion to be led by
ESDO Chairperson, Syed Marghub Murshed, Former Secretary, Govt of
Bangladesh. Our Secretary General, Dr.
Shahriar Hossain, Vice President (South Asia), World Alliance of Mercury Free
Dentistry (South Asia); will present a keynote paper, sharing his experiences participating
in the international negotiations for the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
